When you are facing surgery, no matter how simple or complex a procedure, you want to know one thing: that you’ll be in the best surgical hands. The Joint Health Management Board (JHMB) at Fresno Unified School District wants that as well. Which is why in addition to our already strong healthcare benefits, we’ve made it a priority to offer you and your family access to the best surgical care through the BridgeHealth surgery program.
The JHMB partners with BridgeHealth to ensure you receive high quality care when you need non-emergency surgery. BridgeHealth connects you with top-rated facilities and surgeons, and you’ll pay less out of pocket.
BridgeHealth partners exclusively with hospitals and surgery centers that rank in the top 25% nationally for a surgical specialty (for example, orthopedic surgery or heart surgery) based on independent, third-party sources such as CareChex® and others.
Becoming a qualified BridgeHealth surgeon isn’t easy either. For inpatient procedures, surgeons must be among the top half of quality performers in their surgical specialty at BridgeHealth’s top-ranked hospitals – making them the “best of the best.” Surgeons performing BridgeHealth’s outpatient surgeries need to rank in the top 25% for their specialty, based on CareChex’s Physician Quality Rating Analysis.
BridgeHealth reduces — or even eliminates — costs for non-emergency surgery by waiving your health plan deductible and coinsurance. When travel to a provider is necessary, the benefit also covers airfare and accommodations for you and a companion – plus you’ll receive a daily allowance for meals and incidentals. The program covers 100% of your surgery costs and gives you and your enrolled family members access to top-rated hospitals, surgery centers and doctors nationwide. Check out the sample scenario below.
You’ll work with one BridgeHealth care coordinator who will help you:
With the BridgeHealth surgery program, you don’t receive separate bills from the facility, surgeon or anesthesiologist. BridgeHealth’s bundled surgery rate covers your preoperative appointment, surgery and postoperative appointment. If you do receive a bill, give your care coordinator a call.
