Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

The District, in partnership with American Fidelity, offers flexible spending account plans that let you use pre-tax dollars to cover eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses. There are different types of FSAs that help to reduce your taxable income when paying for eligible expenses for yourself, your spouse, and any eligible dependents, as outlined below.

The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows participants to receive reimbursements for eligible expenses incurred during the plan year and grace period. Participants are encouraged to keep itemized receipts as they may be requested for claim substantiation. Manual reimbursement requests can be submitted through fax, mail, online, or using the AFmobile app. Reimbursements can be received by mailed check or direct deposit into a personal checking or savings account.

Your annual contribution amount, within the maximum limit, must be determined at the time of enrollment each year. FSA plans do not automatically renew each year. If you currently participate in the District’s FSA plan, you must re-enroll and set your annual contribution amount for the upcoming year. Once enrolled, you will have online access to view your FSA balance, check on a reimbursement status, and more.

Participants in the Healthcare FSA Plan have the option to request a Healthcare FSA Plan Debit Card for convenient payment of eligible healthcare expenses. The debit card deducts the expense amount directly from the Healthcare FSA Plan account, eliminating the need for out-of-pocket payments. However, receipts must be saved as proof of eligibility. In the event of termination, participants may preserve their funds and continue reimbursement for eligible expenses incurred before the termination date. It is important to contact the Benefits Department for further guidance to avoid permanent forfeiture of funds. The FSA Store (www.fsastore.com) can be used to purchase eligible healthcare FSA plan items.

Become a WellPATH Champion

If your site is not listed, please include your location below.

I agree to represent my school/department as the Wellness Champion for this school year. I understand the outlined roles and responsibilities of the Wellness Champion and will assist in the implementation and coordination of wellness initiatives. I agree to not only support the WellPATH Employee Wellness program by my participation, but to collaborate with my local management team to support the initiatives as well. I understand that the success of the program hinges on all employees being empowered to make informed decisions that positively impact their health. The WellPATH program can count on me to be a messenger and motivator and to help gather information from my co-workers, principals and managers to help foster a culture of wellness within Fresno Unified School District that supports good health.

I also understand that I may be asked to assist in scheduling rooms and programs (including wellness screenings, seasonal influenza program) at my location, displaying WellPATH brochures, posters, etc. in appropriate areas, and encouraging my co-workers to be involved in the WellPATH Employee Wellness program.
